I'm a Christian. Not because I was baptized at the age of 12 or because I have a Christian parent. I'm a Christian because at around noon on a Monday in October of the year 2000, I asked Jesus into my life. I've walked - and stumbled - alongside Him ever since.
I'm someone who is intrigued by other people's lives. Who they are at their core. What their occupations are. What they do for fun and excitement. What their passions and goals are. What makes them different from me. What makes them similar to me...and so on.
I grew up a bookworm. An only child until I was almost 11, the characters from books were my close companions. With a vivid imagination even then, I relished in my reading time. I recall many days of sitting in my room reading for long periods of time. My parents probably wondered how I could find such solace in the pages of a book, hour upon hour. Neither one of them were big readers, but for me it was like breathing.
I don't read nearly as much as I did back then. Correction. I don't read as much fiction as I did back then. Growing up, it was all fiction. That's all I ever read, unless I had to read something for one of my classes. I loved the art of creating worlds and lives and characters so much that I soon found myself wanting to become a fiction writer. And I carried that dream very zealously for a long, long time. Now that I'm all grown up, my preference for reading and writing is non-fiction and poetry.
I love my pets. My dog, Chloe and my cat, Ms. Kitty. R.I.P to my papa cat, KeKe (I'll love you as long as I live). I grew up with a variety of pets and animals, so I actually have love for all animals.
The work that pays my bills I like most of the time, but am always looking for ways to earn money online so that maybe one of these days I can chuck it altogether and pursue things I have passion for. But I try to remain thankful for what I have right now.
I'm in a lovely relationship with a wonderful Christian man whom I'm hoping and praying I can someday call 'my husband'.
I like facebook one day and can't stand it the next. I don't spend as much time on it as I once did, but I show up ever so often. My twitter account, I deleted. Twitter is for famous people who have those that want to hear what they have to say. I'm not famous. Case closed.
I love playing online games. Love. Love. Love. Especially Texas Hold 'em Poker. But I never play for real money.
I stay on the lookout for books to help me become a better me. I love spending time with my family and loved ones. I'm a sucker for good food. I enjoy listening to music. Mostly Christian, classical and easy listening (elevator music?).
And...let's see...well, i guess that's it for now. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll find an interesting read or two below.
