No doubt most people have made some sort of resolution to eat healthy or healthier this year. If you're one of those, I believe the list below will be a helpful complement to any success you've already achieved.

1. Start a food diary.

2. Never crash diet.

3. Be sure to eat breakfast every day.

4. Make it a habit to eat 3 meals every day.

5. Instead of candy, eat fruit.

6. It's fat grams you have to watch out for--not calories. Oh, and we can't forget cholesterol...watch out for that also.

7. Begin lunch and dinner with vegetables.

8. For dessert, have fresh fruit.

9. Eating on the run? No more of that.

10. Make out a grocery list before you go shopping.

11. Have an energy bar, instead of cookies.

12. Stop overeating. When your stomach says, "I'm full!" it's time to push the plate aside.

34. Try low-fat mayonnaise.

35. Split a large meal with someone.

36. Cut down on your sugar intake.

37. Instead of ice cream, have nonfat yogurt. Ok, this one could be a deal breaker for me.

38. Plan your meals ahead of time.

39. Instead of jelly, try mashed peaches or strawberries.

40. Ask a friend to join you on your new venture to eat healthy.

41. Bake or broil your food, when possible.

42. Replace sugar on your cereal with fresh fruit.

43. Get yourself a low-fat cookbook.

Mona, thanks for the read and the comment. As far as my relationship with ice cream--it's an off-again, on-again type of thing. Right now, we're pretty much off, so it's all good. My best to you and thanks again.
