How to Increase Your Fiber Intake

You can easily boost your fiber intake by substituting whole-grain flour in any recipes that call for refined flour.

Eating more beans and peas is another great way to increase fiber in your diet, since they are a concentrated fiber source.

Instead of using white bread, eat whole-wheat bread or rolls.

Choose wheat or oat bran over bread crumbs.

Instead of processed cereals, eat whole-grain cereals. Remember to check the labels for fiber content.

Go with a baked potato in the skin over mashed potatoes.

Replace white rice with brown rice.

Choose popcorn without any seasoning or butter over potato chips.

Rather than traditional applesauce, eat an unpeeled apple or applesauce that is made with the skin.

Instead of orange juice, eat a whole orange.

All good food items and healthy choices. I try to get in as many raw natural foods as possible. I am glad you mentioned eating whole grain cereals instead of the convenient, tasty, sweetened processed variety. Thanks for the advice and the encouragement!

Kristeen, it really is simple. Nothing at all hard about getting more fiber into our diet, if we really want that. Thanks for stopping by.

Teaches12345, yes they are all good food items and definitely healthy choices. Good to hear that you try to eat things that are great for you as often as you can. There's nothing healthy about processed foods. Thanks for reading and for leaving your comment.
